Jan Willem van Hoogstraten  

Jan Willen van Hoogstraten is CEO of Nuclear Energy Organisation Netherlands (NEO NL). NEO NL a state-owned company with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy (EZK) as sole owner. NEO NL is responsible for the construction, operation, and eventual decommissioning of two new nuclear power plants in the Netherlands. In doing so, NEO NL is contributing to the energy transition and the achievement of the Dutch climate goals and in the same time contributing to the nuclear ecosystem.

Jan Willem van Hoogstraten has more than 35 years of international experience in the energy sector. From 2016 to 2026, he served as CEO of Energie Beheer Nederland (EBN), where he was responsible for implementing aspects of Dutch energy and climate policy, including CO₂ storage, geothermal energy, and energy infrastructure. In that role, he led the development of large-scale projects such as Aramis and contributed to the development of the national gas reserve. Previously, he held management positions at TAQA, Wintershall, and Shell. He studied Mining & Petroleum Engineering at Delft University of Technology.
