Ryan Howard
Ryan has worked at Ontario Power Generation since he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University in 2005. At OPG Ryan developed his “lead from the front”, collaborative leadership style through his time with the Inspection and Maintenance division (now called AIM). Through roles executing and developing innovative tooling solutions for Outage work at Pickering, Darlington, Bruce Power and Pt. Lepreau, Ryan progressed to the Project Director and Work Management Director positions. In 2020 Ryan moved to the Darlington Refurbishment team where he was seconded to CanAtom as Project Director for the Feeder Program starting in DNRU3. In 2022 Ryan moved to the Primary Moisture Separator Project before becoming the Senior Project Director for the RFR Program back with OPG. In 2024 he joined the world changing SMR-X Project as Vice President of Unit 1 Execution. Ryan is a strong advocate for the “One Team” culture that has made the Darlington Refurbishment Project a success and is supporting this cultural growth in SMR-X. He also believes strongly in developing a diverse team at all levels of staff through experiential learning, self-study, mentorship & advocacy and training (in that order).
