PALLAS-reactor
The current High Flux Reactor (HFR) in Petten—responsible for two-thirds of Europe’s medical isotope production—is approaching the end of its technical lifespan around 2030. To maintain this essential healthcare provision, we are building a future-proof replacement: the PALLAS-reactor.

Nuclear growth
Worldwide, the demand for nuclear medicine is growing rapidly, especially for innovative treatments using therapeutic isotopes. In Europe alone, approximately 200,000 such treatments take place each year. This number is expected to increase by about 8 percent annually.
Reliable future
The PALLAS-reactor plays a central role in ensuring the reliable supply of medical isotopes and in strengthening the nuclear knowledge infrastructure in the Netherlands. In doing so, we contribute to better healthcare, innovative therapies, and a reliable nuclear future.
