June 2025
The works started on the construction pit of the Secondary Cooling System Building. The execution of the retention walls, which form the perimeter of the pit, commenced. These walls are executed using the Cutter Soil Mix (CSM) technique. CSM walls will enable further excavating the area to construct the building. The Secondary Cooling System Building is part of the PALLLAS-reactor secondary cooling system.

May 2025
The Pit & Foundation phase is completed. The construction pit, a vital supporting structure that allows the construction of the PALLAS-reactor, equals in surface area to half a football field and deep enough to fit a six-storey building.

April 2025
A 1,5-meter-thick layer of concrete is poured across the pit in five parts. With the foundation floor of the reactor building completed, the construction pit will be delivered.

March 2025
Installation of the reinforcement bars at the bottom of the pit is being finalized.

February 2025
Works on the final step of the Pit & Foundation have been underway. The total of 790 tons of steel reinforcement bars (rebars) are being placed in layers at the bottom of the pit. The rebars, of which the longest ones are 14-meters long, are placed across each other in a given way to ensure the strength of a soon-to-be poured foundation floor.

January 2025
All 380 foundation piles have been filled with concrete. The concrete levelling layer has been poured around the piles to allow for the smooth start of the works on the foundation floor.
