NRG PALLAS commemorates founder André Versteegh

It is with sadness that NRG PALLAS has learned of the passing of André Versteegh. André was one of the founders of NRG in 1998, the initiator of the PALLAS project, and from 2000 onward helped shape the organisation’s nuclear medicine profile. In doing so, he helped lay the foundation for what NRG PALLAS is today.

André began his career as an engineer in Petten and later held various leadership positions within the nuclear sector. At a time when the sector was under pressure, he took the initiative to combine the nuclear activities of ECN and KEMA. This led to the establishment of NRG in 1998, an important step in the development of the organisation as it exists today.

André also meant a great deal to the visibility of and connection within the nuclear sector. He was committed to clear communication about nuclear research, was active in national and international networks, and remained of great value to NRG PALLAS and the wider nuclear community even after his retirement. Through his expertise, connecting leadership style, and deep commitment, he left a lasting mark on both the organisation and the sector in the Netherlands and Europe.

We wish his wife Chantal, his children, and his grandchildren much strength in coping with this loss.
