Anand Kumar Upadhyay

Anand Kumar Upadhyay holds a master’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mumbai. He began his career in the oil and gas industry before joining the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the UAE.

At Barakah, Anand serves as the program owner for multiple critical domains, including ageing management, corrosion control, ASME Section XI repair and replacement activities, sea water piping and component, and the plant-wide protective coating program.

He is certified by leading international organizations, holding credentials such as NACE Senior Corrosion Technologist, Cathodic Protection Level 3, and API 571/580. Anand combines deep technical expertise with practical field experience to ensure long-term reliability, regulatory compliance, and safe operation of nuclear systems.
