Ans Mol

Ans Mol is a Dutch regional politician and a strong advocate for nuclear energy, consistently highlighting the necessity of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) to achieve a reliable, affordable and climate‑neutral energy system. As a member of the Provincial Executive (Deputy) of Gelderland, she has worked intensively in recent years to advance the realization of SMRs in the province.

Under her political leadership, Gelderland is implementing a dedicated SMR Action Plan, aimed at enabling the deployment of SMRs in the region. With this structured and systematic approach, Gelderland is at the forefront in the Netherlands when it comes to the exploration and development of Small Modular Reactors.

In addition, Ans Mol serves as Rapporteur on SMR Strategy in the European Committee of the Regions in Brussels. In this capacity, she actively contributes to the development and shaping of the European SMR Strategy, representing the perspective of regions and local authorities in EU energy and industrial policy discussions.
